In every domestic and international flights we do see range of passengers travelling on business , super economy and economy class. Passengers ranges from very elderly frail to a new born child of few weeks as well as young and middle age people .The space is limited in air craft . we already know that when trolley service comes and dinner , break fast and drinks are served to us . However this becomes critical when someone suddenly becomes unwell . The range of illness do vary as well from very minor illness like fever, earache , allergic reaction to life threatening situation like diabetic emergency, cardiac arrest, stroke , even passengers have ended up in laceration , fracture or even emergency child birth.On certain occasions there is additional need for securing intravenous cannula and intravenous fluids and injections to be given as well. With air turbulence this becomes a difficult task and needs expert hands .Airlines do have their own policies and they are guided by the ground medical staff on audio visual links as well.I have tried to cover common conditions with the aim of simplifying all the contents . I have been further guided by 2 airline aviation medicine experts A Jamil and J Parker who are Medical doctors and serving in top world class institutes linked with aviation industry in KSA and Uk respectively . .
